Found in almost every zone where bodies pile high, Maggots first appear as small inconsequential blockages to any adventuring group of heroes, as evident by their minor health pool. However their only ability, Grave Nibble, is a great nuisance as it inflicts stress damage, has a chance to Stun and can inflict a Disease. They are usually found either in a group of four or paired with Spitters or a Ghoul. Dispatching these enemies, while not difficult, should be among your first priorities, lest they begin building up stress and nullifying your heroes turns.
